About Us
Who are we? Two crazy women!
Jo Fisher graduated drama school in 2000 and went on to be a jobbing actor, discontent with waiting around for the phone to ring she set up her chain of stage schools ‘Footlights’ in 2005. 7 years later she interviewed her then colleague Sue Hibbert who joined her in a tiny office in Media City and together they built the very successful brand of Footlights.
In 2016 they wanted to find some regular rehearsal space and performances space and so built a beautiful theatre ‘The Empty Space’ which at the time was a very old, tired, and empty industrial unit-. It drained them mentally, physically, emotionally and not to mention financially – but they did it!
However, during their early to mid-fifties (let’s call it a midlife crisis) these women just couldn’t stop so when No 36 became available a stone’s throw from ‘The Empty Space’ they couldn’t resist the opportunity to create yet another unique space! Welcome to No 36 everybody!
